Hidden braces - Lingual braces

Hidden braces, also known as lingual braces, are a great example of modern orthodontic technology. They offer one of the most discreet ways to straighten your teeth, providing the perfect cosmetic alternative to conventional braces.

These braces consist of small brackets and wires which are expertly fitted to the inside surface of your teeth. This is how they get their name - 'lingual' means near or towards the tongue. Because the braces sit next to your tongue, no-one can see them, which means no-one will know you're having treatment. The only giveaway might be your speech which will be affected for a few days while your tongue gets used to the braces.

At Pure Orthodontics we use the Fusion lingual system which we believe gets the best results for our patients. Dr Reinach is a Certified Fusion Lingual System Practitioner and has a lot of experience treating patients with this orthodontic method.

Fusion’s digital planning software allows Dr Reinach to determine the optimal and completely customised treatment prescription just for you. Robotic technology is then used to bend a series of customised archwires according to your treatment prescription that will guide your teeth into position.

Braces for children and teens

The British Orthodontic Society recommends children have an orthodontic assessment by the age of seven to identify any problems that may be developing. At Pure Orthodontics, we also have some very effective treatment options for our teen patients too.

Retainers

Retention is possibly the most important phase of a patient's treatment journey. Once braces have been removed, patients are fitted with either a fixed or removable retainer to keep teeth in position so their new smile remains in place.
