A Girl Like Alice is our sponsored international charity which supports young women regardless of race or socio-economic background in South Africa. It is focused on ensuring women are educated in order to give them the best possible chance of future success.

Through the kind generousity of our local dentists and their staff the fundraising is off to a great start! If you would like to help us achieve our target of £200 this year we have collection tins in surgery.

Supporting Chelmsford Womens Aid

December 16th, 2011 | Posted by admin in Charity - (Comments Off)

I cannot believe how quickly 2011 has passed us by. We are now booking patient appointments for 2012 and wishing our patients and a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year as they leave the surgery!

Whilst it normal to get excited in the lead up to Christmas with all the shopping, planning and preparation, it is easy to forget those facing difficult circumstances this festive season.  As a result Pure Orthodontics has decided to support the Chelmsford Women’s Aid this Christmas by donating goods and gifts to the refuge.

The charity provides a refuge for women fleeing domestic violence and an outreach service supporting women living in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas. There’s also an intervention programme to help women meet new friends, boost their confidence and move on in life.

As it stands the charity currently has twelve families staying in the refuge and it is likely that these families will all spend Christmas with little or no personal belongings.  We would like to support them throughout this difficult time and amongst the many things they are in need of include:

-          Children’s toys
-          Gifts for women such as toiletries sets etc
-          Gifts for Teenagers
-          Wrapping Paper
-          Non Perishable Foods
-          Clothing & Shoes
-          ‘Treats’ to make Christmas different to other days – biscuits, chocolate etc.

If you wish to partake, we ask that you bring your donations into the practice at your next appointment and the Pure team will ensure your generous donations are received by the refuge. The charity does ask that no gifts be wrapped as they will be approved and allocated by the refuge staff.

Thank you for taking the time to consider our Christmas Charity campaign. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact the surgery.

We look forward to seeing you all at your next appointments.

Best Wishes

The Pure Team
